Self Assessment of Burn Out

Working from home can sometimes be overly stressing and more tiring than a day job which has its fixed duties and tasks compared to your position when you are working from home, as discussed in a previous blog while working from home you have to handle almost all the positions that are required for the proper and professional functioning of your business, and not just handle, handle well. Daily wear and tear by mentally straining tasks, handling office and home, pollution, long distance travel, a demanding boss and a dumb junior often leaves us more stressed out than we can imagine and leads us to a complete burn out.

Burn out occurs when the level of stress in our body reaches the zenith and the brain just “zaps” being unable to bear the pressure any more. It is advisable to take note of signs that could lead to burn out in order to prevent an extreme situation.

Here’s a list of burn out signs that’ll help to ward off the “zap”:

  1. Chronic fatigue - exhaustion, tiredness, a sense of being physically run down
  2. Being angry at those  who make demands
  3. Resorting to self-criticism for meeting demands
  4. Cynicism, negativity, and irritability
  5. A sense of being besieged
  6. Tendency to explode easily at seemingly inconsequential things
