Stay Active While Working at Home 

When you make the decision to work from home the first thing to organize is your own family schedule. Are you sure that your family is in tune with what you are doing? They should be the first people to come on board with you. Only then will it be possible for you to help your family and receive their help and cooperation in your decisions. Here are some simple things to do before you start your work at home. 

  • Have a family conference or meeting before you actually start working. Probably over a quiet dinner let them know that you will be working from home and how important it is for your spouse and kids to understand that your job is very important. Though you will be staying at home while working, you still have to WORK.
  • Treat your home based job the same as your regular job or a real business. Create working hours for yourself, break time, lunch time and coffee breaks. Do not accept personal calls while working and keep all your personal obligations low even though you are at home. Respect your home based job as much as you would respect any other regular job.
  • Know to draw the line from working hours to non working hours. A probable disadvantage is when you do not know where to draw the line. Many people keep running from their computer to the kitchen, back and forth. You end up working more and you are working all day, from morning to night.
  • Plan your schedule and work as per the schedule. Take weekends off and always prioritize tasks.
  • Set your goals for every month and always set goals which are realistic and achievable. Make a plan on how you are going to achieve your goals and work towards it. Working randomly and without a plan causes a lot of waste of resources, time and energy.

 The bottom line is enjoying your work while staying at home and enjoy the comforts by being more planned.
