When you look around your home office do you see stacks of papers piled everywhere? Do you always have to hunt for the things you need before you can get anything accomplished? With a few simple 5-minute solutions, you can conquer those home office organization problems for good.

Solution 1: If papers are as much of a problem in your home office as they are in mine, a simple solution is to do your filing in chunks. Rather than trying to tackle that big pile of unfiled papers all at once, just take 5 minutes out of each day to do as much filing as you can. Before you know it, that pile will be gone.

Solution 2: If you cannot find the pens, stapler, etc that you need when you sit down to work in your home office, there is a simple solution for that too. Designate a specific section of your desk for office supplies. Block it off or mark it off somehow so you always keep in mind that space is for office supplies only. If your home office organization problem in this area is that your supplies keep disappearing, try securing them to your desk with string. Another solution is to label them and let everyone in the family know that anything labeled "home office" needs to always be returned to the home office area by a certain time each day.

Solution 3: You likely have a pile on your desk somewhere that consists of things that need your attention. So that these important items do not get lost in all of the other papers, create an Action Items folder and file things in it in the order that they need to be addressed. Be sure to check this folder on a daily or at least weekly basis to make sure that anything which requires your attention is taken care of in time.
