Stay Active While Working at Home
When you make the decision to work from home the first thing to organize is your own family schedule. Are you sure that your family is in tune with what you are doing? They should be the first people to come on board with you. Only then will it be possible for you to help your family and receive their help and cooperation in your decisions. Here are some simple things to do before you start your work at home.
- Have a family conference or meeting before you actually start working. Probably over a quiet dinner let them know that you will be working from home and how important it is for your spouse and kids to understand that your job is very important. Though you will be staying at home while working, you still have to WORK.
- Treat your home based job the same as your regular job or a real business. Create working hours for yourself, break time, lunch time and coffee breaks. Do not accept personal calls while working and keep all your personal obligations low even though you are at home. Respect your home based job as much as you would respect any other regular job.
- Know to draw the line from working hours to non working hours. A probable disadvantage is when you do not know where to draw the line. Many people keep running from their computer to the kitchen, back and forth. You end up working more and you are working all day, from morning to night.
- Plan your schedule and work as per the schedule. Take weekends off and always prioritize tasks.
- Set your goals for every month and always set goals which are realistic and achievable. Make a plan on how you are going to achieve your goals and work towards it. Working randomly and without a plan causes a lot of waste of resources, time and energy.
The bottom line is enjoying your work while staying at home and enjoy the comforts by being more planned.

The best way to telecommute is to look for freelance and home based jobs. If you pay attention to job boards advertised online or in print media you would have probably noticed that many of these home based jobs are actually scams. Avoid getting trapped in common scams like stuffing envelopes and mail order business scams. Try checking out the freelance jobs which you can do from home too. Freelance jobs are usually not advertised under the regular work at home job category.
You will need to submit an application for the available free lance positions with the advertising company. Freelance job hiring works in the same manner as the regular job hiring process. The company gets your background checked and they will probably interview you over phone.
Many companies do have interim requirements and back end jobs to be done for which they may not wish to employ personnel. For example, a company based in Palo Alto called liveops hires people for customer service from all over the United States and they prefer that people work from home. However there is some basic criteria to be met in terms of Internet connectivity, computer and office set up. The company pays on every call that you take and for every minute you spend on the call.
Working as a freelancer gives you a lot of freedom and you are your own boss as far as time is concerned. You can start working whenever you want as long as you manage to complete your assignment by the required time. You will still get the feel of an office environment because you need to report your work.
Another added advantage is that you have the security of a regular job as long as your work is professional. Next time you’re checking out work at home opportunities make sure you look for freelance jobs too.

Working from home can sometimes be overly stressing and more tiring than a day job which has its fixed duties and tasks compared to your position when you are working from home, as discussed in a previous blog while working from home you have to handle almost all the positions that are required for the proper and professional functioning of your business, and not just handle, handle well. Daily wear and tear by mentally straining tasks, handling office and home, pollution, long distance travel, a demanding boss and a dumb junior often leaves us more stressed out than we can imagine and leads us to a complete burn out.
Burn out occurs when the level of stress in our body reaches the zenith and the brain just “zaps” being unable to bear the Read more »

Price/Earning Ratio
Price Earning Ratio (P/E Ratio) is how much times of the EPS, the public is ready to pay to get the share of that particular company and it is one of the most decisive factor for the MPS of the company since a company’s MPS = EPS * P/E Ratio.
For ex. If EPS of a company were 2 and P/E ratio of 10 then the MPS of the organization would be 20. It should be noted here that if the increase of the MPS of the company is in spite of the fact MPS being constant, then such increase is due to good performance of the company and if increase in MPS is due to increase in P/E Ratio, then it means that market is confident with regards to the performance of the particular company and here it should be investigated that, whether such confidence is genuine or not and whether such expected growth is really possible or Read more »
