If there is an infant at hand, then in short you must be very exhausted. On top of that the baby wants attention, from home, office there is hardly time left and the baby starts bawling in the middle of a con call. You love your child but you need that extra dollar. So what is it that a work at home parent should do?Routine
Make a daily routine for your child and yourself, so that the child realize that it is your work time. The child id after all the first priority and the most probable reason you chose to work from home. For kids it is essential to understand that the parent is working and needs some time to be quiet, establishing a routine will help deliver that message. Of course there are off days too and fun days too where you just suddenly want to stay with your child throughout the day, but then catch up with the work later or after the child is off to bed. Motherhood is amazing and a child can bring all the difference in your life just by saying that there are fairies she met!
In moments like these take off, enjoy the time, the bond and get back to work later. It is not worth an extra dollar to lose those moments.
Play games like the silent game, use a timer to tell the time, tell her that as soon as the timer rings you will be all for her, the fascination of a game will allow her to play along and not disturb you when you need to be at work. Just stick to the timer game and no cheating because the baby will be waiting for you.
Use the imagination and let the child stay with you. Tell the child that she also has to work, make her imitate you and then see the difference. Children idolize their parents and always try to be like them, tell your child that she has to do some work too, give her a couple of games to play on a separate computer, or tell her to imitate you at work with a pair of fake headphones.
In the last tell the client that you are working from home with a small kid. Most people are supportive and will understand.
Managing this will help you reap the joys of motherhood without having u cringe at every penny spent.

Home based business operates out of the home office of the business owner. Home businesses usually don’t have a shop or office and only a handful have street advertising signs. The number of employees is again few and mostly limited to family members only. If you operate under the tag of Home Business, prospective clients may often doubt the seriousness of your business. However, with the example of thousands of successful home businesses having made it big only the contrary seems to be true.
Microsoft, Xerox Inc. and the Walt Disney Corporation were once started as home businesses while their owners were working or studying and same was the case with Google, Yahoo and tens of today’s other highly successful web based businesses. Apple was started in a garage!
However, today all industries –except the alternative fuel industries and a handful other future prospective industries– are waiting for something new to happen and the growth in all these industries is more or less stagnant. That’s true, so if you have an idea and have been planning on starting a business based on it, this might just be the right phase to introduce the next big thing while working your current job(s).
To start a home based business first of all you need to determine the part of savings you can spare for taking a risk. Bringing in all your savings might not be a good idea, just in case something goes wrong and the whole thing does not work out… Once you have assessed your financial position and have marked the percentage you can risk, you have to decide upon the type of home based business you want to venture into.
If you have a unique idea that’s great to base a new business on, but if you are interested in making some money part time by providing a service or selling some goods the best thing would be to start a website and offer the same online. Setting up a business online allows you to save a lot of money on overheads such as rent, electricity and even staff.
In this series of blogs I’ll cover a wide range of topics related to starting a home based business, provide home based business ideas, walk you through the setup process and give tried and tested tips on keeping a home based business profitable. Bookmark this blog now if you plan on starting a home based business or already have one.

You are going great guns with a client, but just then a princes walks in with his imaginary pony and screams for snow white to get of the phone and pay attention. What does snow white do?? Hand up on the client? Don’t think so? Tell the prince to wait? Not likely. Do your princes and princesses make working from home difficult? Here are some tips to try and control that.
Make a way to say hello or goodbye silently
You probably took the home business option because you wanted to pay attention to your kids as well as work, and if both are not happening, then to whom do you give preference? The dilemma’s most work from home employees face is the noise and the work chores of home itself. The ideal solution to this is to develop a silent language, tell you kids quietly that whenever you are working, they can still get their hugs and kisses, but they just have to be silent. Older kids will understand but for the younger ones you may have to keep rewards like chocolates for whoever was the most silent today.
Use a headset and a wireless mike
This option will easily leave you hands free for the various tasks at home while keeping you in contact with the client. You can relax in a bath or fold laundry and still be working. Making you’re the family favorite or roast duck while earning the money for the roast duck! This simple handy device will liberate you from the back aching computers and the neck twisting phones. You can easily walk around the house and do the pottery while taking to a client.
The family time is also essential as it is essential for you to take your kids into confidence. They will let you work and be more understanding if you let them understand you line of work and involve them in little things like making copies, rewriting something etc.
The joy of home business can only then be fully experienced if the work is happy and the family is happy.

Are there any legitimate businesses, if that is your question then the answer to that is yes!
If we Google the query we come upon a huge number of ideas for these home based business, some claiming to be able to make overnight millionaires and some with more realistic goals. Even if we think that half of these are not legitimate, still the legitimate half is so huge that the possibilities are enormous and very confusing
With such a huge ocean of choices, it is almost impossible to sift through all the options, instead what you need to do is find out the correct base for your work and your interest, whether you want to work as a freelancer or a telecommuter? The interest is very important, with what your friend is happy, you might not be and not be interested at all in that. After figuring out what kind of a business will work the best for you, you need to then research on that answer.
The most of the businesses that you should beware of are the kinds that ask for an entrance fees, they are usually just farces who are looking to make quick money as an upfront and thus lure victims unsuspectingly into their traps by offering huge completely unrealistic amounts as income. These income figures are usually too good to be true.
Some of the sites give links to the various businesses that are original and legitimate. The main test but is still your own judgment. Whether the businesses offer unreasonable income figures at very less work? or anything of this sort. Most companies require some sort of training and cannot afford a huge rate of employee loss, most of the work requires skill and huge costs are incurred in training and thus sincerity is of prime objective here in this field.
To be safe and still make legitimate money, you need to be shrewd in deciding what kind of a business you want to invest in and what you need to expect.

Believe it or not, online surveys make money, for you as well as for the companies. The companies will much rather pay you for your time and patience at your filling the online surveys, than pay huge amounts of money to the call centers and the people who do these surveys. There are any number of companies who offer different lucrative offers for these surveys, like some will offer points to be redeemed against gifts and others will offer vouchers in lieu of money of gifts.
Some surveys offer you dollar rewards, and these can be redeemed against gifts and merchandise such as free flier miles, the points build up quite fast. Most of the surveys also have an eligibility criterion, i.e. the surveys are to be filled only if you are eligible for evaluating that particular good or service, for testing these, there are often questionnaires that need to be filled so that you may be evaluated and then either declared fit for taking the survey or not.
You can easily go through the various lists given in any survey site to get a fair idea of what all you should expect. Making money at home by these surveys is quite a piece of cake for an experienced person, but for a beginner the immense task of finding the correct survey is there. If we Google the query, the number of sites offering money for surveys are mind-boggling, but the question still remains as to what are the surveys that you are eligible to do or not. You cannot be expected to do a survey on American superstores while residing in Asia. Thus for a beginner, the search is the most difficult task of the whole deal, after which the going gets smooth. After a little experience it will automatically be clear what is for you and what is not.
